SICILY. Syracuse. Deinomenid Tyranny, 485-466 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 4.26 g, 11 h), circa 485-470. Nude horseman riding to right. Rev. ΣYRAKOΣION Diademed head of Arethusa to right, her hair drawn up at the back and wearing pearl necklace. Boehringer 281 (O130/R194). SNG ANS 95. Beautifully toned. Minor scratches, otherwise, very fine.
